MOTHERWIND
Hidden deep along the river bends of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, you’ll find Motherwind. Forming in August of 2020, the quartet—Anthony Frey (vocals, guitar), Nate Rogers (lead guitar), Michael Hargens (bass), Jackson Kleingartner (drums)—has already taken lengthy strides in revealing their primal artistry to the masses, despite their formation amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The group originally began writing songs under the name “The Color Scene” at a horse sanctuary owned by a mutual friend. Since then, the band has branded themselves under the new name with an electrifying live show in their arsenal.
The young group’s 70s-bred roots and alt-groove sound has left the floors of rock clubs and bars tremoring, and the concoction of psychedelic riffs and hair-raising chord progressions leaves their audiences stirred. Motherwind has shared the stage with the likes of Crobot, The Black Moods, Royal Bliss and P.O.D., and the band is consistently invited back to venues. With a tour schedule during the summer of 2021, the young group has already shown efficacy in creating a blazing reputation within the up-and-coming rock scene.
Current focuses of the band include constructing their own recording studio above a weight training facility, releasing their breakthrough EP, maintaining a consistent touring schedule and of course finding new and exciting ways to bring people together with their tasty brand of alt-rock.
OUT IN FRONT
Out in Front are a Los Angeles based band that serendipitously met at a tennis club-where they are all tennis pros. Starting off by jamming in a garage, the three band members, Madie, Isaiah, and Ryen, immediately knew they had something together. Coming from all different roots and having various tastes in music, the band has unique inspirations. Nonetheless, they all have one major thing in common– their passion for music. Blending Southern California sounds with pop- rock influences, Out in Front makes music that sparks the desire to take a trip down the PCH.
The band’s songs are threaded together with a theme of starting out and taking a chance on yourself and their individual stories enhance that idea.
Madie Renner is the lead vocalist and lyricist of Out In Front. Madie started playing piano and songwriting at a very young age in Iowa. As a senior in high schoool she scrapped plans to play college tennis and study music therapy in Iowa and was accepted into the prestigious Songwriting Program at Belmont University. Taking a chance on herself after graduation, and knowing she would need to leave her hometown behind, she moved across the country to LA.
Isaiah Volk started playing drums for fun as a young kid but always as a hobby. After finising school on a tennis scholarship he got his pilots license and was working as a tennis pro when he met Madie, found they both loved music and started jamming in his garage. They knew they had the start of something special.
Ryen Wagner, another pro at the club and another college tennis player, grew up playing bass with a wide range of influences. Ryen completed the trio and OUT IN FRONT was born!
The band caught the attention of influencial producer Drew Allsbrook (AJR, Ice Spice, Doja Cat) who joined forces to complete their debut tracks and are currently working on a full length release.
WHEN THE SUN SETS
When The Sun Sets bridges the gap between modern and classic pop punk. tHE GROUP PULLS influence from bands like A Day To Remember, Four Year Strong, FALL OUT BOY, and Real Friends. the Chicago NATIVES USE strong and relatable lyrics paired with driving riffs to GRAB AND HOLD THE ATTENTION OF THEIR LISTENERS. WITH PURE ENERGY ON AND OFF STAGE AND A MISSION TO BRING AWARENESS TO MENTAL HEALTH THROUGH THEIR MUSIC, THEY AIM TO MAKE A MARK ON THE SCENE.
The band RELEASED their hit SINGLE “FEBRUARY” AT THE END OF 2019 WHICH PUT THEM ON THE RADAR OF MANY IN THE SCENE WITH OVER 825,000 PLAYS TO DATE. Now fully independent, the band is currently gearing up to release a full-length album amongst a string of singles. The release will feature artists such as: 408, Bluprint, L E A, + Definitely Maybe to showcase some OF THEIR talented friends in the scene as well as displaying the next chapter in their career. Their most recent EP "You + Me 4 Never" has yielded over 400,000 STREAMS across all platforms.
When The Sun Sets has played alongside major national and international artists such as: Bearings, The Home Team, 408, Sleep On It, Every Avenue, Carousel Kings, BOYS OF FALL, Makeout, Story Untold, amongst many others and are ready to bring the energy on the road. The band has CONSTANTLY DONE weekend runs with on-the-rise bands such as: FRND CRCL, Alone I Walk, Years Later, and Gold Steps TO BRING THEIR MUSIC TO THE ENTIRE COUNTRY. With their eyes on the prize, this CHICAGO POWERHOUSE isn’t going anywhere but up. Take a few minutes, get to know us, and remember that you are NEVER alone.

Coining the genre “midwest grunge” ValleyKil is based in Eau Claire WI. Ear worm melodies and eye catching stage presence is what sets VK apart. You can hear audiences humming their songs after their killer show.

This show is free. Tips will be accepted for the artists.
The Plus is a full service bar & restaurant. The bar is in a separate room from the performance space. Food and drink can be ordered from the bar or from one of our servers. Food and drink is allowed in the performance space.
The Plus is fully accessible for those who use wheelchairs or other ambulatory devices.
